Discovering the surrounding areas on foot
- Less than one hour : Visit of the St Martin priory
A little parish church from the XIIth century, its eventful story saw its many rebuildings. Now protected and brought to life by « L’Asphodèle » association, the St Martin priory is the stage of animations. Its visit is free.
- One hour and a half : The Cagnasses’s peaks
This wide calcareous area with steep relief represents the foothills of the meridional Cévennes. This vast forest reaches 731m, and the vegetation is dominated by green oak garrigues, along with white oak and other bushes. The abrupt environment is an ideal biotope for the aviary fauna amongst which are some protected and endangered species : the Bonelli eagle, the royal eagle, the Grand-duc owl, the Chevèche owl and many others...
- More than 2h : The Fage summits
Peaking at 900m high, it offers a splendid panorama over the deep Cévennes with its mas and hamlets, the Mt Aigoual, the Causses, the Mt Ventoux, the Grande Motte to the south and sometimes even the Canigou (in the Pyrennees).

- Bramabiau Chasm : an underground river called ’Le Bonheur’ (the happyness), flows deep under for a few hundred meters. It sculpts the calcareous rock in an amazing way. The wide and dark chasm marking the entry can’t be missed. When the waters gush out with tremendous power, a faint cry echoes in the mountains.
- The Navacelle circus : the Vis, a capricious river, has sculpted over the years this unique and breathtaking landscape. The little village of Navacelles, at the bottom of the circus, is a charming place, and has an impressive waterfall.
- The Cévennes’ steamtrain and the bamboo plantation de Prafrance :hop in the steamtrain and discover , through tunnels and high bridges, the valley and its splendid landscapes in this unique sightseeing tour. Stoping by the bamboo-plantation will give you a moment of peace in the region’s most renowned green world.
